Green Gables Farm was owned by relatives of Lucy Maud Montgomery. The farmhouse and surrounding area including the “Haunted Woods”, “Lovers’ Lane” and “Balsam Hollow” served as inspiration for her Anne of Green Gables novel series. The interior of the home is decorated in the style of the Victorian Period in Prince Edward Island and the rooms in the home have been named according to the novel. In addition to the farmhouse, guests will find a new visitor center, 19th century gardens, walking trails, a gift shop and a café at the Green Gables Heritage Place.
Located in one of Canada’s most scenic villages, Prince Edward Island Preserve Co. offers visitors an assortment of specialty foods, blended full leaf tea, and spice blends along a beautiful riverside view. Voted #1 Restaurant in New Glasgow P.E.I by TripAdvisor!
The owners have also started The Gardens of Hope, a 12-acre garden sanctuary next door with a mission of opening a Respite Cottage for those dealing with life-threatening illnesses.
